This famed celebration is watched by people from around the world and features some of the top names in entertainment. The ball dropping ceremony is a lasting tradition, once hosted by Dick Clarke.

Run by New York Talks and Walks, the annual Brooklyn Bridge Walk into the New Year is a fun, family-friendly event and pets are also welcome. Walks begin at 10.15pm and 11.15pm, ending at midnight. Numerous groups of about 15 participants are each led across the bridge by a guide, learning surprising facts and history about the bridge along the way. Enjoy free refreshments, goody bags and prizes, and views of the city's various midnight fireworks displays. Tickets can be pre-booked or purchased on the spot.
