The most metropolitan of the five boroughs of New York City is Manhattan. By
no means a large area—the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport takes
up a larger space—it is packed full of restaurants, shops, businesses,
and famous attractions. Times Square and Central Park both call Manhattan home,
as do the Empire State and United Nations buildings. During the winter months,
skating at Rockefeller Center is popular. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, better
known as the Met, houses over two million works of art. Places of higher learning
can also be toured in Manhattan, as New York University and Columbia University
are both located here, along with the prestigious Juilliard School for fine
arts.
